NICK WILDERS

ABOUT
Nick Wilders is an award-winning music director, pianist, orchestrator, and conductor. At home in the theatre, concert hall, and recording studio, his versatility in style and equal comfortability as a singer and keyboardist has kept him contributing to exciting musical projects around the world. Distinguishing himself early in his career touring internationally with JERSEY BOYS, Nick is now an experienced collaborator in new musical development (RIDE THE CYCLONE - Arena Stage, DIARY OF A TAP DANCER - American Repertory Theatre), active cabaret and Broadway pianist (WICKED, COMPANY), and an orchestrator for ensembles ranging from rock bands to full orchestras. He most recently was orchestrator on the world premieres of MAD HATTER (co-orchestrator) and WINGS, and he transcribed the Drama Desk-nominated orchestrations for DEAD OUTLAW. He has been a faculty member/pianist at Marymount Manhattan College, AMDA and Cap21 Conservatory. He's always down for a good jam session, especially one with a Shock Top and a diner visit.

MUSIC DIRECTOR
As a music director, Nick has gained distinct skill and interest in new musical development. His early work as a Conductor and Co-Music Director for live events with Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS gave experience with the inner workings of a large-scale music department, but much of his work is rooted in direct collaboration with composers, lyricists, and actors. He has learned from the leading music supervisors on Broadway, and his keen attention to detail and communication helps a music department stay effective and engaged. He is an active MD for developmental workshops, and a two-time winner of the BroadwayWorld Award for Best Musical Director for world premiere musicals The Last Match and Mad Hatter. He is proficient in Finale, Sibelius and Dorico notation softwares.

PIANIST

Nick on set as the music director and pianist for IN MY OWN LITTLE CORNER on film
Picking up piano to accompany his middle school choir, Nick is now an expert at the keys - a skilled pianist and keyboard programmer, who brings a balance of stylistic acumen, and sight reading skill. He was recently a sub keyboardist for the Tony Award-winning revival of COMPANY, and before the COVID-19 pandemic was a keyboardist and keyboard programmer for the Drama Desk-nominated NYC run and Broadway Records cast recording of EMOJILAND. He is currently an orchestra keyboardist and rehearsal pianist for WICKED on Broadway and sub conductor / keyboardist for TITANIQUE Off-Broadway. He has played keys for Tony Award winning performers Kelli O'Hara, Gavin Creel, Alex Newell, J. Harrison Ghee, Alice Ripley and recording artists Jennifer Nettles, Lizzy McAlpine, and Martha Wash. He recorded the iconic "Rhapsody in Blue" for ALMA NYC dance company, choreographed by Zanza Steinberg.
